People at risk often demonstrate a combination of warning signs and symptoms. Does someone you know need help caring for himself or herself?

IVA… making lives better.

I had nothing left to give. Then IVA gave me my life back.

When my sister was in her late twenties, she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Her highs are high and lows are dark and long. For 30 years, my parents were always there after each hospitalization or episode to help her and get her to take her medication again.

When my parents passed, I became my sister’s keeper. I barely knew the person she had become, but inherited her care.  I had to for my parents’ sake; but it was really, really hard. It was pulling me down. When the estate planner told me about IVA, I called and they got back to me right away. I never knew there were so many services, supports and benefits available to someone like my sister. I can’t thank IVA enough for helping her and giving me my own life back.

The Intervention Associates (IVA) response

  • Meeting with family, and client interview by care manager to assess needs and offer immediate support.
  • Written plan of action created with primary objective to stabilize client’s condition and help avoid the necessity of psychiatric hospitalizations.
  • Actions taken for client: supportive housing, identification and connection to community services and benefits along with ongoing support and monitoring.
  • Frequent communication with client and family.
